Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been laying low ever since she wrapped the Eras Tour, and he finished his latest football season. They are getting the couple’s time they deserve out of the spotlight, but one of the cutest things they’ve done is revisit the beginning of their relationship.
How did they do that? Well, they spent some time with their reported matchmaker, Erin Andrews, per Page Six. Swifties who were there from the very beginning might remember the sportscaster’s Aug. 3, 2023, Calm Down podcast with Charissa Thompson — they were working their magic to get Swift to go on a date with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
The women knew Kelce was disappointed he didn’t meet his crush at the July 8, 2023, concert date at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Andrews pleaded on the episode to Swift, “[Taylor], I know we’re not the best of friends, we’re not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy. Please try our friend, Travis. He is fantastic!”
On an Oct. 17, 2023, appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the former Dancing With the Stars host revealed why she and her co-host thought they would be a good match. “Travis was very open about not getting to meet her, and so we were just being really candid because we love him,” Andrews explained. “We’re good friends of his. And we just were like, ‘Taylor, date this guy.‘” Describing the NFL athlete as “good-looking” and “a great, great guy,” she admitted that she “threw it out there” for fun — it was worth the try. Andrews even joked about “officiating the wedding” and perhaps being “there when he proposes, all the things.”
Andrews must have a crystal ball because she thought they were endgame material two years ago. Now, she’s still in the couple’s inner circle while they vacation in Montana. Page Six revealed that the three of them enjoyed a night out at Auric Room at Lone Mountain Ranch. “Erin is close friends with Taylor and Travis, and Travis even jokingly credits Erin with encouraging Taylor to date him,” the source said. “They’re all good friends.”
It’s a good thing Swift heard Andrews’ call to date her pal because the pop star has been going strong with Kelce since September 2023. (Of course, that’s the public timeline… they have both hinted that they began dating earlier.) With Andrews enjoying a full-circle moment with the dynamic duo, it only feels fitting to invite her to the wedding (if and when that happens). Andrews is officially Kelce and Taylor’s dating fairy godmother.
