While she is one of Hollywood’s biggest rising stars, Sydney Sweeney has managed to keep her longtime relationship with Jonathan Davino out of the spotlight. After all, while Sweeney is all over the big screen with movies like Anyone But You and Immaculate, her relationship with Davino is still mostly under wraps. But, as new sources are revealing, they might be hitting a rough patch that’s all too familiar for Hollywood couples.
According to sources for Us Weekly, Sweeney and Davino, who were first linked in 2018, are “having major issues but are not fully split.”
Most recently, the pair was planning their wedding after getting engaged in 2022. Sadly, however, their brought patch is affecting their walk down the aisle too. Per the source, wedding plans have since come “to a halt.”
“Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet,” the source said. “They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”
“They were supposed to get married this spring,” the source revealed. “The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
As for what these “major issues” are, the source says Sweeney, who is set to star in the upcoming book adaptation The Housemaid, the third season of Euphoria, among a few other projects, is just too busy.
“A lot of their issues stem from Sydney being extremely busy with work commitments,” the source said. “She doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship. Sydney is really focused on her career. Jonathan wishes they were able to spend more quality time together.”
That’s reportedly especially the case when speculation of dating rumors, including the rumors of Sweeney being with Glen Powell on the set of Anyone But You, start bubbling up.
“Things are also always tense between them when she is promoting a movie because she has to give her full attention to the project, and people always speculate about their relationship and Sydney being close to her co-stars,” the source claimed. “It’s a tough dynamic for Jonathan.”
Understandly, Sweeney and Davino are struggling right now. With so many exciting yet time-consuming projects and a whole wedding to plan in the meantime, it’s enough to stress to leave any couple on edge.
