Queen Camilla’s Son Tom Reminisces on Childhood Movie Nights With His Mom: ‘This Is the Life’

adminMarch 26, 2025

Tom Parker-Bowles is taking a trip down memory lane. The son of Queen Camila — who she shares with ex-husband Andrew Parker-Bowles along with daughter Laura Lopes — spoke on the latest episode of Table Manners with Jessie & Lennie Ware, and opened up about growing up with the now-royal.

The 50-year-old food writer has fond memories of Friday nights. While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry enjoy “duvet days” with their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, the ParkerBowles family had Friday movie nights complete with takeout food.

“The fish and chip shop was in our local town, so we went to the video shop afterward,” he said per Hello! “[Queen Camilla said] I wasn’t allowed to get eighteens, so I’d get Lethal Weapon, and the Delta Force… whatever it was.”

Even though this was pre movie ratings, Parker-Bowles said his mom “would know all this stuff.”

“And then you get fish and chips and a video, and it’s just like, this is the life,” he continued. “… and a coke!”

Parker-Bowles also talked about what his mom would cook for him and his sister — long before she was married to King Charles III and had access to “a team of very good chefs.” His favorite meal that she made was a roast chicken with a baked potato.

“She was a good cook, but she wasn’t a recipe follower,” he said. “Get a chicken, put a lemon up his a**, you know, put butter all over it, put it in the oven. That’s dinner!”

Queen Camilla made headlines last month when she and the King welcomed a new royal family member. And no, it wasn’t a sibling for Tom, Laura, and Charles’ sons Prince William and Prince Harry. It was another fur baby who would probably also love a bit of roast chicken.

The couple adopted an 8-week-old puppy named “Moley” who, in terms of breed, is “a bit of everything.” And if you’re wondering where that interesting name comes from, it’s because the dog looks “just like a mole.”

Buckingham Palace later told People that Moley was born to a Jack Russell Terrier mom and an unknown dad on the day after Christmas. The adoption, which is a fitting use of the Queen’s royal patronage of the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, came soon after her dog Beth passed away.

“A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen’s much-loved companion from @Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire,” the royal family said at the time on Instagram.

Now we wonder if Moley curls up with the Queen and King (and perhaps sometimes Tom too?) and watches a good movie. Perhaps even an “eighteen.”
