The season three finale episode of The White Lotus might still be a couple of weeks away but Michelle Monaghan is already teasing what fans can expect.
While speaking to Glamour, Monaghan, who plays Jaclyn in The White Lotus season three, dished about what was to come and it seems like we’re in for a shock. “Well, I can tell you that the fans will be very, very surprised,” the 49-year-old actress said. “[Creator] Mike White just does it again in terms of the ending.”

In typical The White Lotus fashion, Monaghan was careful not to give anything away but hinted that the finale, which will air on Sunday, April 6, will be a fast-paced watch.
“The first half of the season is so strong, but Mike is so smart about pacing in the way that he sets up story and dynamics, the personal relationships and all that, that you really feel so invested in each and every character,” Monaghan explained. “And then the payoff in the back half of the season, which just propels you into the finale, which is just so intense. He’s a genius. He knows exactly what he’s doing.”
Monaghan character Jaclyn is a TV actress who paid for a trip to the Thailand branch of The White Lotus for herself and her two childhood pals Laurie (Carrie Coon) and Kate (Leslie Bibb).
The complicated, and at times two-faced, dynamics between the trio have created some of the most talked-about scenes of this season, namely episode three’s dinner table conversation in which Jaclyn and Laurie discover that Kate’s husband is a Trump supporter.
“These are conversations that are happening all over the country and the discovery of friends, differing political views and things like that,” Monaghan said of the scene which resonated with a lot of American viewers. “I think that’s what also makes the show so relatable, when you get yourself into that kind of conversation or you’re learning something new about a friend, you don’t quite know what to say.”
But with cracks beginning to show between the friends in March 23’s episode, in which Laurie is left furious after Jaclyn hooks up with the staff wellness guru Valentin, who she has been urging Laurie to make a move on from day one, it looks like there is plenty more drama to come.
