The 3rd Environment Parliament has once again proved to be a strong platform for voices pushing for climate action, and this year, Kigezi was proudly represented by Kanungu born Iradukunda Ambrose, the founder of Green Guardians Conservation Hub.
Ambrose, a young man known for his conservation efforts made a compelling case on how climate change is already affecting communities and why action cannot be delayed.
The Environment Parliament was created to amplify discussions on environment and climate change, giving space for innovators, activists, and policymakers to share ideas. Ambrose carried with him the spirit of Kigezi and the vision of OurWorld2050, showing that young people are stepping forward to lead the action on climate change.
Speaking after his presentation, Ambrose said protecting the environment should not be left to government alone. “It is everyone’s responsibility. If we all play our part today, we will secure a better tomorrow,” he noted.
His participation in the parliament is seen as a milestone for Kigezi and a boost for grassroots organisations like Green Guardians Conservation Hub, which continue to raise awareness and take practical steps towards a cleaner, greener and healthier planet.
