George and Amal Clooney are in their New York City era and sources are revealing how the couple are navigating life in the Big Apple.
The pair has temporarily relocated from their many other luxury homes to New York while George, 63, is making his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, the stage adaptation of his 2005 film of the same name. Meanwhile, his human rights lawyer wife, 47, is keeping herself busy with numerous international causes from the United Nations.
“George and Amal have been loving being in NYC,” an insider tells Us Weekly of the couple’s big move. “They usually don’t spend that much time in the city so they have a lot of people they have been seeing. They both go to work during the day, and the twins are here with them too.”
George and Amal are parents to 7-year-old twins Alexander and Ella.
“They have hosted a few dinner parties for friends at their home,” the insider added. “They are very much a couple who enjoys more private date nights.”
Back in February, George opened up about living in NYC with his kids ahead of the April 3 opening of his Broadway show. “Actually, a play is kind of a good schedule because, you know, you’re working at night, you get to see the kids during the day, so it’s ok,” the Oscar winner told The New York Times.
Life in New York is certainly treating the family well after George broke Broadway box office records by grossing over $3 million for seven preview performances of the play, which he co-wrote alongside Grant Heslov.
The adaptation of the 2005 film, which was directed by Clooney and also written by him and Heslov, chronicles Edward R. Murrow’s legendary, history-altering, on-air showdown with Senator Joseph McCarthy.
