Chelsea Handler Hands Out Psychedelics at Vanity Fair Oscars Party, Sparks Debate

Comedian Chelsea Handler is once again making headlines after revealing that she handed out drugs to guests at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. During her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday night, the 50-year-old entertainer spoke openly about her love for micro-dosing and how she shared psychedelics with fellow partygoers at the star-studded event.

“I love drugs … micro-dosing especially,” Handler told host Jimmy Kimmel. “People have this stigmatization around drugs that I find very annoying. Drugs can help so many people.”

Handler, known for her bold humour and candid storytelling, admitted that she offered substances like psilocybin and LSD to guests at the high-profile party. “I love giving people drugs! You should have seen me at the Vanity Fair party, the Oscars, oh my God, I was giving it out to everyone,” she said, adding that people happily accepted her offers.

However, she made it clear that she does not engage in or distribute “bad” street drugs like cocaine or heroin. Instead, she focuses on what she calls “natural” substances that can enhance moods and even help treat depression.

Handler explained the benefits of micro-dosing, stating, “A macro-dose might be 500 milligrams, but I’m talking about 50 milligrams of MDMA or LSD. Just enough to have fun, not to hallucinate.”

The former “Chelsea Lately” host did not name any specific celebrities who accepted her offer, but the Vanity Fair party included high-profile guests like Paris Hilton, Rita Ora, Kim Kardashian, Sydney Sweeney, Olivia Wilde, and Julia Fox.

Handler has long been open about her experiences with recreational drug use. In her 2016 Netflix series “Chelsea Does,” she experimented with substances like ayahuasca and even mixed alcohol with Ambien under medical supervision to explore its effects.

Following her latest revelations, social media erupted with mixed reactions. Some fans praised Handler for her openness and for challenging outdated stigmas about psychedelics. Others, however, criticised her for encouraging drug use at such a prestigious event.

Handler, who was promoting her new book, “I’ll Have What She’s Having,” during the Kimmel interview, ended the conversation on a positive note. “People should be allowed to do whatever they want. Everything should be legal,” she stated confidently.

As the debate over psychedelics continues, Handler’s comments have reignited discussions about drug policies, mental health benefits, and the evolving attitudes towards responsible substance use in Hollywood.
