The Pioneer Woman’s Easy Chocolate Tart Only Has 5 Ingredients & Takes 20 Minutes To Make

adminMarch 25, 2025

Whether you were invited to a last-minute dinner party or have a hankering for something rich and chocolatey, Ree Drummond (a.k.a. The Pioneer Woman) has a recipe that will satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth and takes just about 20 minutes to make (though patience is a virtue while allowing it to cool!). It’s a luscious chocolate tart that’s made from ingredients you probably already have in your pantry.

“It starts with a chocolate crust and I’m using chocolate sandwich cookies,” Drummond said in a Pioneer Woman clip recently posted to Food Network’s Instagram page. She pulses the cookies in a food processor until they become nothing but crumbs. Then, she adds melted butter to bring the cookies back together in crumbly dough form.

Drummond likes to use a metal measuring spoon to smooth out her cookie dough in a pie pan before placing the crust into the freezer to allow it to set. And while the crust cools and sets, she moves onto the ganache filling.

Over medium heat, Drummond stirs heavy cream and salted butter together, allowing it to come to a slight bubble. In a glass bowl, she mixes chopped dark and milk chocolate and then pours the hot cream over the chocolate, stirring everything while it all melts together into a creamy ganache.

Pour the ganache into the set crust and pop it into the fridge to let the entire thing cool and set. Drummond recommends leaving the tart in the fridge overnight to really ensure the ganache has fully cooled, but you place it in the freezer to speed up this process. Just make sure to check it every so often to make sure it doesn’t totally freeze.

You can then decorate the tart using white chocolate or leave it as is! Grab the full recipe on Food Network’s website and bring this tart to your next gathering. Everyone will leave happy and want your not-so-secret recipe!
